Hydro-Geologist
Plan, develop, coordinate, and manage on and offsite project site investigations, data collection/interpretation, sampling activities, proposal/report development, and environmental field work. Act as the geologic/chemical technical consultant to ensure that proposed and current projects meet regulatory standards, are approved, and are completed according to schedule/budget.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1. Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
  • Ensure proposed and progressing projects meet regulatory standards and may thereby be approved.
  • Determine the necessary permits needed to complete the proposed project.
  • Obtain necessary permits in a timely fashion.
  • Prepare and review relevant documents for submittal.
2. Initiate, maintain, and interpret necessary geologic remediation activities.
  • Develop and monitor the necessary site sampling plans to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to project schedule.
  • Oversee the implementation and execution of field activities and data collection.
  • Analyze, interpret, and report geologic & chemical data associate with site.
  • Effectively interact with prime client, sampling companies, field work subcontractors, project manager, regulatory agencies, and public groups.
3. Monitor and control project sites hazardous waste site investigations to ensure project is progressing on schedule and within budget.
  • Furnish necessary documentation & reports.
  • Manage environmental field work and data collection performance.
  • Investigate potentially serious situations and implement cost-effective, corrective measures.
  • Proactively perform analyses and risk assessments to develop correct measures as needed.
4. Represent Pollution Risk Services in proposal and project strategy meetings, etc.
  • Prepare and present marketing proposals.
  • Provide technical/engineering advice as necessary.
5. Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client.
  • Review relevant data to minimize costs and maximize project efficiency.

6. Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
  • 4 year Engineering, Geology, or Hydro-Geology degree/equivalent, with a strong environmental/geological background.
  • 7+ years remedial investigation experience.
  • Ohio VAP Certification desired. Must be willing to obtain upon employment
  • Have an understanding of Ohio Voluntary Action Program, CERCLA, PCRA, and TSCA.
  • PE registration in state of Ohio, with ability to obtain registration in other states as needed.
  • Knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of Groundwater Modeling, Nautral Attenuation Analysis, Risk Assessemnt, Autocad, Terramodel, MS Office, WinStabl, and HELP Model.
  • Must be able to apply innovative and effective techniques to maximize project performance.
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of environmental corporate, governmental, and industry practices, processes, standards, regulations, etc. and their impact on project activities.
  • Good communication, interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.), and organizational skills essential.
  • Must be a business oriented person with report writing and problem solving skills.
