Business Development
Plan, develop, establish, and coordinate strategic corporate business development and marketing efforts. Obtain new work by establishing and maintaining effective contact with potential and current environmental services clients.

TYPICAL DUTIES
1. In conjunction with the executive group (Business Manager and President), develop objectives and strategies in support of overall corporate business development goals.

2. Perform and manage research and client contact to identify and prioritize potential markets and clients.
  • Determine client needs and evaluate company resources and capabilities in light of those needs.
  • Meet with client management, staff, and supervisory personnel to explain character, policies, skills, resources, and capabilities of firm.
  • Identify new work leads and manage lead follow-up, recordkeeping, and information distribution.
3. Prepare and implement business development action plans for specific targets and targeted markets.
  • Facilitate the development of departmental/individual plans/objectives, and assist in developing a strategy for managing client contacts regarding new work, contract negotiation, claims resolution, and future work potential.
4. Direct and supervise the development of major proposals, presentations, and brochure materials.
  • Notify executive group of progress: sales activities, proposal timetables and development, bid submittals, areas of concern
  • Assist other sales and marketing personnel in the development of effective promotional literature for the firm and other company departments.
5. Meet clients needs prior to contract execution. Provide advice, liaison, planning, etc to prospective and current clients.

6. Take a leadership role in the sales process and final close.

7. Perform additional assignments as requested by the executive group including but not limited to:
  • Assist in the development of objectives for the Incentive Bonus program.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Educational and experience requirements include:
  • Four (4) year degree with background training in marketing/business.
  • Experience with estimating, supervision, engineering, marketing, and sales a plus.
  • Five (5) years experience in a variety of marketing and/or sales functions.
  • Must possess excellent communications skills (verbal, written, persuasion).
  • Ability to produce highly professional proposals and presentations.
